Tomer BurgPhD Student

Welcome!

I am currently a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate at the University of Oklahoma, working with Dr. Steven Cavallo on researching Arctic Meteorology. I previously completed my B.S. and M.S. degrees at the University at Albany, SUNY. This website shows some of my research, as well as additional projects and real-time data visualizations.

What are Tropopause Polar Vortices?

TPVs are small-scale vortices along the tropopause, most commonly found in the Arctic, that are also some of the longest-lived phenomena in the troposphere. TPVs can exit the Arctic on occasion, and can amplify or initiate various midlatitude weather phenomena.
